The Ruler's Throne « Thread Started on Mar 23, 2007, 1:29pm »
The high ceiling is decorated with beautiful clouds, painted by a fine artist to compliment the golden trims of the room.
The doors to enter are arched and tall, from the entrance there is a long velvet royal red carpet, the carpet leads to the two thrones.
Not as tall as the door, though high backed and made of gold, the thrones are upon a stage, four steps above the rest of the room. Thick armrests either side of the seat, and a fat velvet red cushion on both seats make the thrones comfortable and pleasant to sit upon.
Large windows allow much light into the room and have a view of the kingdom so that one can see what is going on in the town of Coimhlion.

Maggi walked with her chin held high, her feet stepped silently on the floor, on the red velvet as she walked towards the throne. Her trail smoothly followed her gracious walk.
"My Lord," she bowed her head and closed her eyes in respect. "I have received a vision I believe will interest you." She lifted her head again and looked at him with a straight expression.

"All your visions interest me, Maggi." The Dark Lord set down the letter he was reading, a missive from the borders reporting the subduing of some royal loyalty. "What it is?"

Maggi gave a small smile as he set the letter down and she had his attention. She moved closer to the throne and set her golden orbs upon him.
"I have seen a group, one that dares to gather to challenge you." She started. "They have arrived in Coimhlion. but have not all banded yet. May I be so bold as to make a suggestion?" She asked, she had ideas, ways they could keep them from banding together and creating trouble for her master.

The Dark Lord listened with interest, one eyebrow arching up. "A group, but not yet banded you say. Fascinating. Have you seen who they are, or where, or any indication of their plans?" He inclined his head slightly. "You may make a suggestion, of course."

Maggi nodded. "I have seen faces, I have seen some locations, though not all." She said calmly. She looked around the room as if guaging whether it was safe to talk.
"My suggestion is quite obvious, probably one you would think of yourself." She started. "We should make sure that they cannot find one another. Take one and keep them here, they might know something useful to you." She explained. "I could perhaps even draw something useful from them that they do not know. A vision perhaps." She kept her eyes on Orfeo as she spoke and lifted her chin slightly when she finished.

"I'm glad your opinion agrees with mine." The Dark Lord nodded, having considered that very option. He didn't think that keeping a potential would-be hero in the castle would be that wise, but closer to home, and safely under lock and key, was a fine idea.
"Very well. I'll give you a dozen guards and a loyal guide- go where your visions lead you, bring me one of these 'heroes'. Let's see if they know who they're facing."

Maggi smiled slightly, barely noticeable was her smile, but it creased her lips none the less.
She listened to his instructions and lowered her head slightly. "Thank you my Lord. I shall make sure that we do not fail you." She said in her gracious voice. "when will the men be ready to depart?" She asked. "I would prefer a quick if not immediate departure as I am not sure when my vision took place and I am not sure how often I will receive updates." She explained.

The Dark Lord stood up and gestured for one of the guards to approach, giving curt orders for an escort to be prepared. "As soon as you're ready to leave, my dear, so will they be." He told Maggi. "Go and pack, now. I might be a longer trip than even you can predict."

Maggi watched and stood by as the orders were given. A small smile crossed her face and she looked from the guard to the Dark Lord as he looked to her and spoke.
She bowed her head slightly in respect. "Yes my leese." She said before she turned to leave the throne room. Her mind started to think of the first place, she wondered whether she'd like to tease the future warriors, make it harder for the ones searching, or whether it would be simpler to just disband them before they were together by taking the ones who were searching.

Days after the Dark Lord Orfeo had gone on his secret mission to a secret destination, the throne was still empty.
On occasion, a soldier might dare to sit in the chair and jestly order his troops around, but their laughs never lasted long, for the fear that Maggi or Lady Lorelei would enter the room and order them death.
Today, the guards in the throne room were behaved, the heavy doors to the room opened and Maggi the Mage walked down the long royal red carpet.

As Maggi walked, her head was held high underneath her heavy headpiece, her grace attracting the attention of all the men as she got closer to the throne.
Beautiful sheer layers of material dragged behind her and when she took the steps up onto the heightened level, she turned around and faced the rest of the room. The material curved and folded into shape and she looked straight ahead as she lowered herself into the throne.
Her arms rested gently on the arm rests and her delicate, slender fingers sat gently over the edge of the rests. She had sent Bastian on his errand, all that was left to do was to decide what to do with the Lady of Darkness.
