Ophelia looked at her daughter and raised her eyebrows as she waited for an answer. It was a patient expression, though an expectant one.

Her daughter's response was one that made Ophelia's worry much worse than before. "The child is your age Amira." She said quietly, standing up she started to pace around the table, the book still in its place and her hands now behind her back.

"Amira," she stopped and looked at her daughter, this wasn't something she could discuss easily with her daughter, it was something she needed to speak to her husband about. "Tell me something about yourself..."

She was interested in what her daughter would tell her, the expression on her daughter's face seemed cold and, blank, Ophelia never imagined a child of her's to stand by and watch violence, whether it be deserved or otherwise. She never imagined to see such a lifeless look upon a living being either.

At least her sons held passion, personalities, identities, her daughter, seemed to hold nothing.

Amira thought about the child being her age, well, he wasn't a child then. He was a young man and by then his father shouldn't be punishing him. The young man should know what to do. But she said nothing but frowned as though her answer had been wrong. She seemed lightly troubled at her mother statement.

'Tell me something about yourself'

What was there to say? She didn't understand what this had to do with her studies though it might have been a trick question or something... so she knew she should answer it "I don't understand..." she said quietly then thinking a little more "I am a Princess to the Kingdom" she said, there, she had told her mother something about herself. Even though her mother would naturally know that.

Ophelia was disappointed in her daughters answer, but her hesitation showed she had been slightly confused.
She nodded and sat back down opposite Amira and looked at her with a loving smile.

"Yes, a beautiful princess, loved by all, but, what do you enjoy doing? What passion have you? What dreams rest behind those sorrowful eyes?" She tilted her head as she spoke softly and her smile turned gentle.
"There is no wrong or right answer to this one dear, just what is inside you." She added.

Amira frowned gently at what her mother said "I enjoy reading books, I enjoy studying" she said quietly "And my eyes aren't sorrowful" she told her mother. Where there was meant to be an expression of annoyance, there was nothing. She had no dreams, to her dreams were just things that appear in your sleep and tormented you in real life.

And there was always a wrong and right answer. The speaking the wrong thing could make someone angry or hate you, saying the right thing... and everyone loved you.

Ophelia nodded slowly. She was getting closer, at least she hadn't said anything about being obedient. She looked at Amira's eyes and nodded, her daughter was right, they weren't sorrowful, they were completely void of any emotion.

"What about dreams?" She stood up and walked to the window. Her hands rested on the sil and she looked out over the land her husband ruled. A smile crossed her face. "I used to want to travel the world..." She said in a soft tone, she looked back to Amira.
"What dreams of your future have you daughter?" She asked tilting her head.

Amira blinked as her mother stood up and walked over to the window. She honestly didn’t see how this… talking had anything to do with studying. She looked down at the table in front of her with the books and then up to her mother as she said had said she wanted to travel.

Amira was still sitting perfectly in her chair “I don’t dream mother” she said quietly then looking towards the window herself “But I want to get married and be in love” she said. She hated being a Princess sometimes. Here she was, she wasn’t important to anyone but to be married off to some noble. Ha, her and Theo were more alike then she thought… She looked at her mother and smiled “I hope Father picks someone nice”

Ophelia Rose frowned as Amira said she didn't dream, everyone had dreams, they only denied their existence, most believing they were too far off to become reality, but, few people realised, dreams could come true, Ophelia's dreams had changed through out her life, and now she believed her life was a dream.
She had a loving husband, beautiful children, worrisome as they were, they still loved her and as much as the boys tried to deny it, each other.

"You know you're father only wants you to be happy and secure. He won't force you to marry someone you do not get along with." She was disappointed in her daughter, just a little. How had she become so... so blank?

“I know he wont, father is far to kind to just marry me off to just anybody” Amira told her mother, but still she wondered who it’d be. There were some dashing young men in the army; Amira had spotted a couple when she and Hunter had been watching Theo train them. There were also some noble’s sons that dashing too. Amira begun to blush lightly, an emotion she had learnt to bring on anytime she needed it.

“Though it shall be interesting to see who he chooses” Amira said softly to her mother. Amira thought she was ready to marry, though the idea of being a wife scared her a little she had really nothing left to do in her life and maybe a husband would excite her into emotion or something. Maybe they’d be given a manor out in town, maybe.

“But I do think I am ready for father to find some-one” she admitted, again softly.

(sorry this took so long, Amira is a VERY hard character to reply to without being too repetitive)

Ophelia swallowed and nodded slowly, glad her daughter knew her father well. She sat down opposite Amira and watched her face carefully as she continued to speak of marriage.

Ophelia imagined Amira would make the perfect trophy wife, to any man who wanted an emotionless personality-less woman to live with and bear children. She imagined in these times, most men would love a wife who would not dare speak up. Amira would be perfect for that.

Is that all they had raised her to be? A trophy wife for some mindless Lord or Duke?

"What makes you think you are ready for marriage?" She asked after Amira had finished. She wondered whether Amira knew what she was like, if she knew she couldn't truly feel love if she had no... identity.

(*nods* It's alright)

Amira gently rubbed the side of her neck, it itched but she would not scratch it in case she left marks. She blinked at her mother, she was at the right age? She had read in the family history books that a girl her age was normally marriage off about now "Cause there is nothing else in my life that I see important, I have learnt my studies, I have master many instruments, I have forfilled most of my Royal Duties. The only one that I have left is to be wedded" Amira said, still so lifeless, so emotionless. She had wanted to fade into the background and that what she had been about to do. She had mastered that.

She had never wanted to be seen as a troublesome child. Her mother and father had always had to stress over Theo and Hunter, then with her sister. It didn't seem fair for them to have to worry over her. Therefore she had blended into the background and done so well in doing so.

Queen Ophelia closed her eyes and shook her head. She had to talk to her husband, she couldn't remember raising her daughter to be so lifeless, none of her other children were anything like this.

"Amira, I think, we're done for the day." She had no idea what to do with her daughter now. It was beginning to hurt being around her.

Amira frown "But we haven't covered anything you said we were going to talk about earlier" she said staring at her mother then standing up. Was her mother just dismissing her for no reason? Had she said something she shouldn't have? Amira didn't understand "Have I done something wrong mother?"

Ophelia nodded, she'd realised this, but for some reason, today felt different to the other days, different to other lessons. She stood behind her daughter and smiled fondly, remembering when she was a little girl playing with her sister.

"No honey, I'm just not feeling very well all of a sudden." She half lied. It wasn't Amira after all who had done something, it was herself and her husband, after all there was no one else who had raised their children was there?
But if that was so how could such a friendly and selfless father and such a passionate loving mother have raised such an emotionless child? Dutiful to the point of nothing else in her life.
Perhaps it was just what had happened in the family, to her sister, it had been hardest on Amira, Ophelia was sure, but, it wasn't as though she'd been alone, they had suffered, they had all been there for each other, at least, Ophelia had tried to be there for her children.

Amira sighed and looked at the books then to her mother “Would you like me to call the doctor up?” she asked curiously. She didn’t like hearing a family member wasn’t feeling well; Lymsleia and her had been complaining they hadn’t felt well when they both came down sick. So hearing ‘I'm just not feeling very well all of a sudden’ stirred something in Amira’s closed heart.
